Livongo / Teladoc

Principal Experience Architect & Director, Product Design · 2020

Led design for Livongo’s upcoming mental health offering. Starting from first principles, this effort spanned a complete remake of the existing product, entirely new branding, and the development of new processes and streams.

MyStrength is the existing product and needed a complete replacement. As a full-time contractor, I was the only designer on the team for approximately 6 months. I built a new brand (includes palettes, type, components, art style, etc), a design system, developed design sprints and processes for the future team, did vision work down to final redlines.

The primary product feature verticals I owned were onboard, home, explore, library, assessments, a content widget system (like a mini-SquareSpace), and settings.

Once Teladoc acquired Livongo, the brand was changed to match the new parent company.

Designing for a wide range of severity and conditions

Soothe

The palette and style I created was intended to serve a wide-variety of condition severities, ranging from job stress to suicidal ideation and schizophrenia. Warm, calming, and professional.

Tone

While I didn’t own copy, the art direction I developed was about creating a sense of space and acceptance.
